“The Tree By The Sea” is Debbie Deegan’s debut book, the first in The Tree By The Sea series. It tells the story of a special
cypress tree overlooking Dublin Bay, brought back to life by talented tree sculptor Tommy Craggs.
Debbie was fascinated by the magical animals Tommy carved from the tree. She
imagined these creatures granting wishes
to children who visited the tree. With the
help of local illustrator Bronagh Lee, the
book came to life, and now Fearghas Mac
Lochlainn has translated it to Irish as “An
Crann Cois na Trá.”
